Paediatric Occupational Therapy Services

OT’s help children and their families to develop their skills in the areas of self-care, social
behaviours, school and play, helping them to participate to the best of their ability in their daily lives. This is achieved by working collaboratively with health professionals, families, teachers and education providers to support the child’s development in all of their environments. Our focus is client and family centred programming with empowerment and education provided every step of the way.

Our Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants help children to develop their play, self-care, learning and independence skills, improving their functional skills, their ability to participate in their daily lives and improving their quality of life.

Occupational Therapy Adult Services

Welcome to Belong Health, where we are dedicated to providing comprehensive Occupational Therapy services tailored to individuals across all stages of life. Our team of experienced Occupational Therapists are excited to introduce our new range of services designed to address the unique needs of individuals across the lifespan.

Occupational Therapy: Young Adults to Adults (18-49)

During the transition into adulthood, we understand the importance of fostering independence and developing essential life skills. Our Occupational Therapists offer personalised interventions to support young adults in achieving their goals, whether it's through vocational training, education support, or enhancing daily living skills. We can also assist young adults with exploring options for supported independent living including exploring and applying for Home and Living Supports available under the NDIS.

As individuals navigate the responsibilities and challenges of adulthood, our services aim to promote independence and enhance quality of life. Whether managing chronic conditions such as arthritis, living with a serious health condition, disability or injuries, our Occupational Therapists provide interventions tailored to each individual's needs, including both low cost Adaptive Equipment and high-cost Assistive Technology recommendations, Home Modifications, and support with activities of daily living.

Occupational Therapy: Older Adults (50-65+)
Our Senior Occupational Therapy services focus on supporting Older Adults aged 50-65+. We provide comprehensive assessment and support clients, and their primary carers, to navigate the complexities of the aged care system, from early diagnosis to end-of-life care. Our expertise ensures that clients maintain their independence and quality of life.

Assistive Technology & Equipment: For all ages
Our Occupational Therapy (OT) services encompass comprehensive assessments and personalised equipment prescriptions, ensuring individuals achieve optimal independence and functionality in their daily lives.
Occupational Therapists assess functional abilities and limitations, recommending Assistive Technology to enhance daily activities for people of all ages. Belong Health’s specialised OTs provide tailored equipment solutions that empower individuals and simplify everyday tasks.

Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) - For all ages

Our Occupational Therapists can complete a Functional Capacity Assessment at individual’s homes throughout Perth and Mandurah surrounds, in our clinic in Falcon and via Telehealth (where appropriate). As NDIS registered Occupational Therapists, we are able to work with NDIS participants with all funding types.

Speech Pathology - All Ages

Counselling

At Belong Health we strive to offer a flexible therapy format that can be modified and adjusted to suit any child’s needs and requirements. We focus on using research-backed therapy formats that are proven to be effective for children and neurodivergent clients.

Childhood is the prime of physical and mental development, generating lifelong traits, attitudes and thought processes it can be a stressful time for any child. For a child with a disability, however, it can be even more so, feeling different from others and even family and friends, struggling to build connections with peers, and learning to navigate societal norms that weren’t built for them. Its often that children who face these additional pressures may develop hard-to-understand feelings, thoughts and emotions that might manifest as behaviours that deviate from the norm.
Counselling can offer those facing these issues a place to be heard and understood and offer a new way of managing these feelings in a healthy and beneficial manner, assisting a child to develop lifelong skills and techniques that will allow them to interact as they choose with the world around them with a reduction in unwanted feelings and emotions.

Positive Behaviour Supports - All Ages

At Belong Health, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach dedicated to enhancing an individual’s quality of life by understanding and addressing challenging behaviours. Our approach integrates principles from applied behaviour analysis while strongly emphasising human rights and values. What is Registered Music Therapy?
Music therapy is a research-based practice that uses music interventions to achieve therapeutic goals and improve quality of life. It's delivered by qualified music therapists who assess each client's needs and develop individualised treatment plans tailored to their specific abilities and challenges.

Belong Health offers comprehensive Telehealth services for individuals of all ages, providing access to Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Counselling, Positive Behaviour Support, and Registered Music Therapy.

Referrals to Belong Health
We are Medicare and Private Health fund registered for Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology.

EPC/Team care arrangements/Chronic disease (CDM) or GP management plans and self-referrals are all acceptable.

Medicare
You can get a referral from your/your child’s GP for OT on a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan this gives you 5 sessions for OT per calendar year with a $53 rebate available on each session or a Helping Children with Autism/PDD/ or an eligible disability package (20 sessions between allied health professionals, as set up by a Paediatrician/Psychiatrist) which gives your child under 16 years a $75 rebate per session for the 20 sessions, you can use up to 10 sessions per Health Professional (up to 10 for OT) and you will need a separate referral letter from your child’s Paediatrician for each Allied Health Professional you are seeking services from.

Private Health
Your Private Health fund may cover up to 75% of the cost of OT sessions if this is included in your cover, be sure to call them or check your policy for details.

No referral or self referral
You do not require a referral for accessing OT

NDIS Registered Provider
We are an NDIS Registered Provider
Whether you or your child have NDIS funding that is NDIS Managed, Third Party Plan Managed or you are Self-Managing your funds, you are able to use your funding to cover the full cost of therapy services plus travel costs. You will need provide us with your/your child’s NDIS number and plan details ahead of your first session. Once you have booked a session or contacted us, our team will be in touch to discuss our service agreement and provide you with our services price list.
