Belong Health's occupational therapy services


Daily activities are our therapy.

OT’s help children and their families to develop their skills in the areas of self-care, social
behaviours, school and play, helping them to participate to the best of their ability in their daily lives. This is achieved by working collaboratively with health professionals, families, teachers and education providers to support the child’s development in all of their environments. Our focus is client and family centred programming with empowerment and education provide
d every step of the way.

Sophie Davidson
​Occupational Therapist 

B.Sc. (Occupational Therapy)

Sophie is an OT who works with children, teens and their families. She has over eight years specialised experience in the areas of early intervention, behavioural change and developmental therapy, in homes, schools and in clinic. Sophie love’s providing community-based therapies for assisting with Autism, ADHD, sensory-processing disorder, developmental delays, learning difficulties, fine and gross motor skill difficulties. Sophie takes an holistic approach to assessment and therapy with a passion for empowering her clients to achieve optimal health, function and wellbeing.

NDIS Support Coordinator – Dinah Soulas 
 
Dinah has been working in the disability sector since 2012 and is a passionate advocate for families that love and support a child living with a disability.
The journey of a disability diagnosis, funding application and utilisation of supports can be consuming and extremely overwhelming.
As an experienced NDIS Support Coordinator, Dinah will support families to both apply for NDIS funding, identify participant goals and optimise funding streams as well as linking with community and personal supports to ensure the family feel supported, safe and have a sense of belonging.

Counsellor

Lisa delivers evidence based, person-centred therapy to clients experiencing personal difficulties and helps them to face their problems, find solutions and make appropriate changes in their lives. Lisa has experience working with people struggling with anxiety and depression, anger and stress management, couple and family relationship difficulties, grief and loss and substance abuse issues.
 
Lisa has worked with children, adolescents and adults using a variety of treatment methods including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her approach to therapy is client-focused and strengths-based and she provides short, medium and long-term therapy according to the needs of the individual.
 
Lisa is passionate about providing a safe place for clients to share their story by offering support, encouragement and non-judgement. She firmly believes that a strong, engaged and trusting therapeutic relationship enables clients to feel supported and empowered to make changes, achieve their goals and live a full and meaningful life.

Accessing our services

Let's Work Together


Medicare
You can get a referral from your/your child’s GP for OT on a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan this gives you 5 sessions for OT per calendar year with a $53 rebate available on each session or a Helping Children with Autism/PDD/ or an eligible disability package (20 sessions between allied health professionals, as set up by a Paediatrician/Psychiatrist) which gives your child under 16 years a $75 rebate per session for the 20 sessions, you can use up to 10 sessions per Health Professional (up to 10 for OT) and you will need a separate referral letter from your child’s Paediatrician for each Allied Health Professional you are seeking services from. 

Private Health
Your Private Health fund may cover up to 75% of the cost of OT sessions if this is included in your cover, be sure to call them or check your policy for details.

No referral or self referral
You do not require a referral for accessing OT
​Referrals to Belong Health
We are Medicare and Private Health fund registered for OT.

EPC/Team care arrangements/Chronic disease (CDM) or GP management plans and self-referrals are all acceptable.

We are an NDIS Registered Provider
Whether you or your child have NDIS funding that is NDIS Managed, Third Party Plan Managed or you are Self-Managing your funds, you are able to use your funding to cover the full cost of therapy services plus travel costs. You will need provide us with your/your child’s NDIS number and plan details ahead of your first session. Once you have booked a session or contacted us, our NDIS Support Coordinator will be in touch to discuss our service agreement and provide you with our services price list.
