How can an ot help?
Daily activities are our therapy.
OT’s help children and their families to develop their skills in the areas of self-care, social
behaviours, school and play, helping them to participate to the best of their ability in their daily lives. This is achieved by working
collaboratively with health professionals,
families, teachers and education providers to support the child’s development in all of their environments. Our focus is client and family centred programming with empowerment and education provided every step of the way.
Occupational Therapy services for:
School performance skills- self regulation, concentration, problem solving, handwriting, organisation and task breakdown
All fine and gross motor difficulties- hand strength, handwriting, tool use, sitting posture, balance and coordination, all gross motor skills, delayed milestones and difficulty keeping up with peers.
Social skills and emotional resilience training, how to make and keep friends, understanding social situations and social problem-solving skills
Self-care and management skills difficulties; toilet training, dressing and shoes, grooming, fussy eating/mealtime difficulties, sleep difficulties, concerning behaviours, difficulty following instructions.
