Autism Checklist for Adults
Possible Signs and Autistic Traits to Reflect On in Adulthood
Are you wondering whether you might be autistic?
Perhaps you have always felt different from the people around you. Maybe social situations take more effort than other people realise, certain sounds or environments feel overwhelming, changes are particularly difficult, or you have developed ways of hiding parts of yourself to fit in.
Some people know they are autistic from childhood. Others do not begin wondering about autism until their teens or adulthood.
This Autism Checklist for Adults is designed to help you reflect on experiences and patterns that can be associated with autism.
You do not need to relate to every item. Autistic people are different from one another and can have very different strengths, experiences and support needs.
Important
This checklist is not an autism test, screening tool or diagnostic assessment and cannot tell you whether you are autistic.
Some of the experiences below can also occur in people who are not autistic or may be associated with ADHD, anxiety, other neurodevelopmental differences, mental health conditions, disability or individual personality and life experiences.
If you recognise yourself in this checklist, you may choose to explore your experiences further or speak with an appropriately qualified health professional.
